💬 What is the Shoutbox?
The shoutbox is a real-time chat room — one shared, global room for the whole site. Messages appear instantly for everyone, logged in or anonymous.
✍️ How to Post a Message
- Enter your name in the "Name" field (optional — leave blank for "Anon").
- Type your message in the "Shout" field.
- Click SHOUT! or press Enter to send.
- Your message appears instantly for everyone.
⚠️ Reporting Messages
See something inappropriate? Help keep things clean:
- Click the ⚠️ button next to any message to report it.
- Moderators review reported messages.
- Repeated violations may result in a ban.

🛡️ Security Features
- Rate limiting: one message every 10 seconds, to prevent spam.
- Captcha: after 5 messages in a session, you'll need to verify you're human.
- Word filter: inappropriate words are automatically censored.
- IP tracking: messages are logged with an IP address for moderation purposes only.
- Message-level moderation: a moderator can hide a specific message from everyone else while the poster still sees it as sent.

Why do I see a captcha?
After 5 messages, we verify you're human to prevent spam bots.
My message isn't appearing!
You might be rate-limited (wait 10 seconds), banned, or your message was filtered. Check your connection and try again.
Can I delete my own messages?
Currently only moderators can delete messages — but you can report inappropriate content.
How do I get moderator access?
Moderators are assigned by site admins based on trust and community contribution.
